Roxanne's Birthday Celebration

Last Sunday afternoon we celebrated Roxanne’s birthday. She threw a braai and made poitjiekos. Poitjiekos is a dish that consists of meat, vegetables, and potatoes that are layered in a black cast-iron pot, covered in water, and left to cook for several hours until all the juice is evaporated. The contents of the pot seem to blend together and make a mouth watering dish. It was our first time having this traditional South African meal. To say the least it was delicious! We had a lovely time of fellowship with Sean’s mom (Rose) and dad (Chris), Roxanne’s sister Eva and a few friends.

I’m currently working on developing my passion for photography. I truly value a beautiful photograph. Here are a few of the photos I took to capture this fun event.

The wonderful food.

The flowers.

Roxanne, our wonderful Host!

Her husband, Sean.

Roxanne and Sean’s oldest child Eilah and youngest son Seth.

As a group, we prayed over a couple who is starting a church over in the next town of Mossel Bay, about 25 minutes away.
