Our typical week

A lot of you have been curious of what our typical week looks like. So I thought I’d share how it’s been this semester.

Monday: Day Off. We typically try and catch up on what needs to be accomplished for the week and plan for any activities that are on the horizon.

Tuesday: Meet with Cedric and Pauline for discipleship. This lasts most of the morning and into the afternoon.

Wednesday: On campus all day. Stephen is attending classes to help students. Megan is either preparing material to assist Cedric in his teachings for the week or working on some kind of graphic for marketing our next big event. We stay on campus until 6:30pm when we attend the student service consisting of Praise and Worship and teaching by Cedric. We typically get home around 8pm.

Thursday: On campus all day. We practically do the same thing as Wednesday. Thursday nights about mid-semester we attempted at being in a cell group through the church we attend, but kept missing the group. We’ll start again at the beginning of next year.

Friday: Friday Night Activity. We participate with the students in one of three activities that alternate each week. These consist of either a movie night, game night, or discussion night. Stephen has headed up all the games since being here and they seem to really enjoy our “American” games.  Stephen also attends a men’s Friday morning prayer group with other guys his age.

Saturday: Typically a day the students have time to hang out. This semester we’ve gone to festivals, watched movies, baked and had game nights.

Sunday: Church. We attend the Baptist church in town along with Cedric and Pauline. But we have been able to visit one of the main churches the students attend in order to get a feel of what they are getting exposed to and what their point of reference is. This has been very useful and insightful in gleaning what their backgrounds are like. In the afternoon we typically have a group over for lunch. Then in the evenings we have our meetings with the student committee members to plan for the following week and upcoming events for about two hours. Following is a church service for the students on campus.
