Drinks

Fruit Juices
“South Africa has two main brands, Liquifruit and Ceres – both produced in the Valley of Ceres in the Cape Winelands.  Exotic juices such as apricot, mango, banana, strawberry, peach, and guava vie with the more traditional citrus varities.”
We LOVE these juices.  They are 100% juice, with no added sugar, and no preservatives.  They are so fresh tasting and we’re working our way through all the varieties!
Tea
“While South African produces Indian teas on plantations in the Eastern Transvaal, the country has two indigenous bush ‘teas’ that lack both tannin and caffeine, yet are more robust and tastier than most herb teas.  The best known of these is rooibos (meaning ‘red bush’ tea), which comes from a Cape mountain shrub.  The town of Clanwilliam in the Cedarberg region of the Western Cape is famous for producing rooibos.  According to taste, rooibos can be served with mik or black with sugar.  Slightly sweeter is honeybush tea, also made from a Cape shrub.  Not as dark as rooibos, honey bush typically is brewed strong and taken black with sugar.
Stephen and I have taken up drinking tea like the South Africans.  We love Rooibos tea.  We drink it like we’ve been taught….milk with honey.  Supposedly it’s got all kinds of health benefits to it.
