Prayer Request

Stephen and I have a very hectic week coming up and would appreciate everyone's prayers.  Monday and Tuesday is registration for all 375 first years.  On these days, Stephen and I will be manning a booth to promote the Christian Centre.  We are giving free ice-pops away in exchange for filling out a survey with prompting questions. It is our hope that these will lead to follow ups to get to know people personally as well as an opportunity to invite them out to things.  Please pray that students would a) want an ice-pop so that they fill out the survey and b) that the surveys will lead us to those on campus searching for God and for those who know God and would be interested in joining us at the Christian Centre.

Then Wednesday through Sunday we are going to be "How To" leaders which is essentially orientation leaders for all these first years.  Stephen and I both along with another student leader will have a group of about 35 students to lead for the week but also to be a "Buddy" to for the semester.  This is GREAT because between the two of us we will get to know about 70 students.  Please pray that God would use us this week to connect with the students and that he would lead us to those we could be the most effective with.  I personally am so excited to get to know these incoming first years!  Our role for the week will be a variety of things like showing them around campus, telling them what resources are available to them through the school, as well as practical applications to get them through their first year.  But there will also be quite a few social events that will give us more of an opportunity for one on one time...there is going to be a braai (barbeque), a trip to the beach, a movie night, and a hike.  With all that is going on we could really use prayer for energy, excitement, and a guts to take the initiative.  Then lastly on Sunday evening the Christian Centre will be holding a service for all the students...also a big opportunity to share the gospel and to make the Christian Centre known to all those on campus.  We are really excited about this week and hope that you will be in prayer with us as we see God work this week.
