Campus Pastor

We are never ceased to be amazed at the student’s perspective of us. The other day I attended a class to learn how to set up a website for One Life. While I was talking with the lecturer from Port Elizabeth (a town 3 hours away) she introduced me to one of her associates who had come to assist her. As we got to talking they asked how I was involved with the campus and as I was explaining I mentioned Stephen and his role as a tutor for the IT department. She asked if he looked really young (about 18), with brown hair and about ye tall. For she was just with her Freshman son downstairs and he said “Hey Mom look that’s our Campus Priest” while pointing out Stephen. Stephen and I had a good chuckle over that one.

Then in the same day on our way out of the gate the guard called Stephen “fundisi” which in the African community also means “Pastor”.

Although, they’re not correct in their definition of Stephen’s role at least they know we’re associated with something Christian! We can praise the Lord for that.
