Prayer Request

Please pray for our leadership retreat over the next two days.  There are 20 students right now who are interested in being a leader of some sort within the Christian Centre.  

Tonight (Friday) we'll be having a dessert / game night at our place for all the leaders to get to know one another.  Then tomorrow (Saturday) we'll meet from 10-4 for teaching and discussion in order to equip them for the start of year.  

From this group of students, the remaining Christian Centre students will vote who their committee leaders will be.  This is a very important role because these students will be the face of our ministry for the year.  Please pray that God would hand pick students who have a passion for him and for all people.  Also, from this group of twenty we will choose who our small group leaders will be.  This is a new thing for most of them so please pray that they would not be intimidated by leading their peers but would be excited to share their faith and the word with one another.

Also pray that tomorrow the Lord will lead our discussion times and that the students will unite under the Scriptures and not their individual backgrounds and cultures.  This continues to be a very "touchy" issue: Christ over culture, not culture over Christ.
